Raiding Rules

GENERAL RULES

1. GEAR
Raiders' gear should be gemmed and enchanted appropriately. There are several JC'ers and enchanters in guild that can do these services for free, just ask (but please try to provide your own materials). Come to the Raid repaired.

2. FLASKS
All raiders are expected to have a flask in effect during raids. This means you will need 3 flasks to cover a normal raid. A 10-flask Guild Cauldron will also be available courtesy of our our alchemists during raids. There is normally a decent supply of flasks in the guild bank thanks to Chetek, Shikashi, and other contributing guild members. Please do not abuse the privilege of taking flasks from the guild bank; we are on the honor system here.
If you are a class that may need to switch roles, such as Off-tank for a one tank fight, bring a potion of some type that will enhance your offspec performance. One example would be a potion of strength for an offtank that has to switch to DPS on a one tank boss fight.

3. FOOD
Raiders should bring some type of food that enhances their main spec performance. A Seafood Magnifique Feast may be available, but don't expect it.

4. FIGHT KNOWLEDGE
All raiders should be familiar with the Tankspot.com strategy guides for all current content. Current content includes Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight, and Baradin Hold. We make only minor modifications to the strategies; they are listed in the Guild Strategies section of this forum. Fights will NOT be explained in detail during guild runs.

5. BUFFING
All classes capable of buffing are expected to keep buffs on the raid consistently. As a rule, we will begin buffs as soon as all raid members are inside the instance and within range of raid buffs. Temporary buffs such as Horn of Winter and Warrior shouts should be kept up consistently.

6. BREAKS/AFK'S
We will take a 5 min break every hour, on the hour when raiding. If we are in the middle of a boss fight, we will break for 5 minutes as soon as the fight is completed. Please try to limit any other afk's as much as possible.

7. LOOT
We currently use a simple loot council system as listed in the 'Loot Rules' section of this website.

8. TIMELINESS
Raiders should ensure they log on at least 5-10 min prior to raid start time. When a raid starts at 7pm server time, that means 1st pull is at 7pm. Do not wait for a summon, start heading to the raid site as listed on the calendar.

9. ASSIGNMENTS
Raid leader will pass out tank and heal assignments as the raid is buffing prior to first pull. Do not spam the raid leader in vent or in game whispers asking for assignment.
Normally, the main tank will always be assigned to the boss and on two tank boss fights will control the boss first. The Offtank will normally be assigned to tank adds and on two tank boss fights he will taunt off of the Main Tank when required by that particular fight's mechanics. For healers, Paladins and discipline priests will normally be assigned to tank heals due to class mechanics. Druids and Holy Priests will normally be raid heals and Resto Shaman will be utility healers that will be assigned as needed depending on raid mechanics. Raid healers are expected to use their experience and skill to determine when to assist with heals on the Tanks and are not restricted from assisting with tank heals when necessary. Main tanks will be marked with a purple diamond, Offtank 1 will be marked with a green triangle and OT 2 (when used) will be marked with an orange circle.

10. TARGETTING PRIORITIES
The standard kill order for any VENGEANCE raid will be Skull-X-Square-Moon unless otherwise noted by raid leader. In situations such as trash pulls, raiders are free to use AoE attacks, but should concentrate their single target attacks on the kill order. For instance, a Death Knight is free to use Death and Decay, but should throw his Death Coils at the Skull whenever possible.

11. DEATH
If you die during trash pulls, release and run back.

12. VENTRILO
Ventrilo is mandatory for all guild raids. You only need to be able to hear. Microphones are optional.

13. ADD-ONS - There are 2 add-ons mandatory for raiding. they are:

1. A Boss mod of some type (Deadly Boss Mods, Bigwigs, etc)
2. Omen - Omen is a threat meter. It allows you to keep an eye on your threat to prevent you from tanking the boss.
